This is the recipe for the first green smoothie I tried and loved. Frozen produce has worked well when I’ve been unable to find fresh and/or organic items in season. Enjoy!
Blend well:
1 cup chard
1 cup spinach
8-10 strawberries
1 mango, peeled
1 apple
1 banana
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cups water
Yields approximately 2 quarts

OK, Ms. Smoothie Guru! I just tried this Green Smoothie, and it’s good! Obviously, the better the fruit, the better the result. Count me among your health apostles!
You should start a list of everyone who follows your inspiring lead. It would be interesting, to say the least. It also would reflect your empowering others because of your informed persuasiveness.
You truly are gifted and blessed, my dear niece.
Lots of Love,
Tia Judy
Hey Val…just ordered a Breville…can’t wait for it to get here so I can get some smoothie on!! Thx for the motivation! Besos!
Awesome, sister! Breville is a juicer. Juicing is also great to do (in addition to smoothies); you’re going to love it! Nothing tastes as good as fresh juice. Happy juicing! xoxo
Ok I made the green smoothie today that I told you about.
2 cups spinach leafs
2 ripe bananas
1 apple cored and chopped
1 cup water
It was very good and filling. It made about 3 cups. I wish I would have used a frozen banana, I would have liked it colder.
That’s awesome! It’s fun to experiment with different combinations of fruits/veggies. Some are gross, but you can always keep adding fruit until it tastes good! Lemon juice is a good pacifier for bitter tastes.
You can always add ice to smoothies if you don’t have frozen produce around. That will make it nice and cold and frothy if that’s what you like. I prefer room temperature, but I’m weird that way.
I’m so excited that you’re trying the green smoothies. Keep me posted on how it goes!

I made your above mentioned smoothie today. It was ok.
Yay! You can always adjust quantities and ingredients to make it taste good to you. Keep experimenting!
Ok I just made up my own, it might not have enough green to qualify but it was good.
1 cup carrot juice
1 chopped apple
1 peeled mango
1/2 cup chard
2 gourmet cucumbers
Juice of 2 mandarins
Juice of 1 lime
That’s awesome, Den! I’ve never added mandarins or their juice to my smoothies, but I bet they gave it a tangy boost of flavor. Thanks for sharing!

I had an awful smoothie today:
8 leaves Romaine lettuce
5 cups watermelon
1 cup water
The recipe sounded good, but the product was too watery and tasteless. That surprised me because the lettuce was crisp, and the watermelon was sweet.
Hope you’ll post more great recipes!
Abrazos,
Tia Judy
Sounds refreshing, so I wonder why it wasn’t! Lemon juice helps with bitterness, but in the case of watery and tasteless issues, I’d suggest adding either a much greater quantity of watermelon or additional fruit (maybe an apple or mango chunks). I know you drank it in spite of the boring taste, but you should add more flavorful ingredients in so you don’t have to suffer!
I’ll post more recipes soon.

Heres another…
1 cup carrot juice
1 cup packed spinach
1 gourmet cucumber
1 peach
3-4 strawberries
Juice of 1 lime
Also very good! If I should say so myself
That one sounds good, too, Den. Carrot juice is so sweet so I bet that helps! Thanks for sharing!
xoxo
